Jeffrey Clemens is a professor of economics at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD), where he is also the director of the Center for Economic Policy Analysis (https://cepa.ucsd.edu/).
He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and an adjunct senior fellow at the Hoover Institution. Professor Clemens has a research portfolio spanning the economics of state and local government finances, fiscal federalism, health policy, and minimum wages.
Professor Clemens is concluding terms as a co-editor at the Journal of Public Economics and the Journal of Health Economics, and is an associate editor at the Journal of Economic Perspectives and American Economic Journal: Economic Policy. He is also a member of the Congressional Budget Office’s Panel of Health Advisers.
